Air is something that we cannot see or feel but it is one of the most important things that we need to live. Its actually amazing how something that we cannot touch, feel or sense has so much effect on us. Air is a survival necessity that allows all living things to exist. Without air, all life will seize to exist on this planet. Air is made up of a ton of different gases from which humans and other mammals require oxygen and plants require carbon dioxide to live. Air is a natural phenomenon and cannot be controlled by humans in most cases. When it comes to air plants and humans are the best friends to each other, humans exhale carbon dioxide which is necessary for plants and plants exhale oxygen which is needed by humans to live.
Over the last few decades we have chopped down hundreds of thousands of trees that were essential to purifying the air but with no trees to add new oxygen in the air, the air that we breathe now is more polluted than ever. In some countries, the air is so polluted that breathing there is equal to smoking 50 cigarettes a day. Something that is supposed to be an essential action for humans to survive should not be as harmful as smoking two packs of cigarettes a day.
We are polluting the air so rapidly that in the near future our environment might be so contaminated that we might not even be able to get out of our houses without a mask on.
All of this pollution is not something that has happened in the last couple of years or the last decade. This pollution of the environment has been going on for centuries.the side effects of burning coal to power trains and the nuclear plants that we have made to fulfill our need of power have all combined to pollute the environment to such an extent. There are countries in the world that need to install air purifiers into each building just to be able to breathe properly and if things don’t change that might be the story of every country.
The actions of the past cannot be redeemed but we still have a chance to make everything better. We need to cut down on our use of objects that pollute the earth that contains the nuclear plants and burning large areas or piles of trash. Incineration of trash doesn’t only just pollute the environment it also adds dangerous and hazardous gases in the environment that can further affect our breathing. We need to rethink and recycle to reduce landfills of trash and most importantly we need to shift towards cleaner and renewable energy sources.
