Over the past few decades, we humans have really reached much higher heights than we ever thought possible. That includes technology, travel, and of course, SKINCARE. Now I’m sure you all already know just how important that one is. Science has really allowed people to come up with the perfect formulas and products for every skin care issue we face (whoever these people are, God bless them!). However, science is always changing, always improving, it’s a slow process, and if we want to make our skincare routines even better, sometimes the products in the market just aren’t enough. Well, one thing’s for sure: science is great for forming most of our skincare routine, but it hasn’t reached the magical benefits of mother nature itself just yet! So, we’re here to list down the best mother nature has to offer, that’ll really take your skin care routine to the next level.
Aloe vera is a miracle plant in every sense of the term. It’s been one of the most widely used natural skincare treatments for literally thousands of years, and there’s plenty of reasons our great-great-great…. Grandmothers were using it. Aloe vera leaves have gel inside them, and this gel is used for many, many purposes. Firstly, if you’ve been having trouble with acne, aloe vera gel is your go-to choice. Practically a cheat code against acne, aloe vera gel Is excellent, basically a tank in your war against acne. It not only clears skin effectively, yielding fast results, it’s also much better for irritated or sensitive skin when compared to the much harsher chemicals in many products. Not only that, but it’s also amazing at hydrating your skin as it’s dense with moisture and nourishment. Furthermore, its also an amazing protectant against sunburn! Aloe vera gel is a clear choice as an addition to your routine, but how do you get some for yourself? Well, there’s two choices: you could buy an aloe vera plant and extract gel yourself, or you could simply buy an aloe vera gel product. Aloe vera plants have to be taken care of and extracting more gel very often can get pretty tedious (I’m way too lazy), and the packaged aloe vera gel price in Pakistan isn’t steep at all either, so that’s what I’d personally recommend!
People say money runs the world, but I’d say trees do. Money paper comes from trees, AND trees keep us alive. Well, turns out some wood’s even great for your skin! Sandalwood is prestiged in Ayurveda, and for good reason! It’s powdered form or oil is amazing for not only clearing your skin, it’s antiseptic properties make it actually PREVENT acne too, as it tightens your pores and coagulates your skin proteins. If you’re an active person and spend a lot of time in the sun, sandalwood is the perfect option for removing that tan for you! Just these reasons alone should be more than enough to convince you to get your hands on some sandalwood powder or oil, but in addition (yup, there’s more), sandalwood is also very good for adding a vibrant glow to your skin and making it all soft and smooth. Unlike aloe vera gel, sandalwood oil or powder is not too easy to formulate on your own. Luckily, sandalwood oil as a product is widely available, and some trusted brands, like Saeed Ghani, offer sandalwood powder as well!
Now, if you’re into fitness, you’re very likely to have heard of Greek yogurt. The fitness nerd that I am, I knew it was great for delivering a lot of proteins in a few calories. However, what I did not know was that Greek Yogurt is impeccable for your skin as well. Because our muscles aren’t the only ones who need protein, our skin does too. Applying Greek yogurt to your face thoroughly unclogs your pores to prevent and battle acne, redness, marks and sores. The lactic acid in yogurt (or many dairy products) happens to be a magnificent exfoliator, gently but effectively sweeping dead skin and dirt away. Also, it’s important to get the full fat version, not the skim or nonfat, because the fat is filled with tonnes of healthy moisture, and it hydrates your skin greatly.
Now, rose water, along with aloe vera, are probably by far my personal top two natural skincare choices. Mother nature REALLY went all out with roses. They’re gorgeous, smell amazing, and they have so many benefits for us. Rose water is made of water infused with rose petals, and that combination is nothing short of brilliant for your skin. Rose water is amazing for reducing skin redness with it’s anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which result in a beautiful, rosy effect on your skin, killing all puffiness and improving your complexion. Not only that, but roses are one of nature’s best healers, making rose water great for preventing as well as treating infections and healing cuts, scars and even burns. Not only that, rose water has great anti-aging properties, tightening your skin and reducing wrinkles. As if all that wasn’t more than enough, with using rose water for skin, you get to extra ridiculously good bonuses as well: it alleviates your mood, AND relieves headaches too. Wow, who knew roses were this much of a blessing. Rose water products are also widely available and easy to get!
There you have it, these are by far our top three choices for natural remedies/ treatments for completely upgrading your skin care routine. To sum it up:
With Aloe vera’s skin clearing properties, it's excellent for fighting the acne or marks that you’ve been struggling with.
Sandalwood powder takes the cake by rejuvenating your skin and also being great in dealing with sun tan.
Greet yogurt is exceptional at cleaning and hydrating skin.
Rose water is amazing for, well, everything.
So there you go, after getting to know all this, we hope you’ve chosen which one (or ones) you’ll be adding to your routine, and trust us, either will have absolutely game changing effects.
